Why Executive Protection Is Still Underinvested

March 16, 2026

Security and safety investments in within your daily routines and movements

Executive protection is often misunderstood as a luxury service reserved for heads of state and celebrities. In reality, it is a practical risk-management function for executives, founders, public figures, and families whose visibility, assets, or operating environments create elevated exposure.

Recent reporting around the San Francisco mayor’s security detail illustrates a simple reality: public-facing leaders can face sudden, unpredictable incidents in everyday street environments. In that case, Mayor Daniel Lurie was unharmed, but officers assigned to protect him were attacked during a street confrontation. This is a reminder that even routine movement can become unstable quickly.

The lesson is not that everyone needs a large security footprint. The lesson is that people, routes, transportation, venues, and public interactions all carry risk that should be evaluated intentionally.
